We love our families, and they love us. Read what they have to say!

From Shadi George, mother of Shylee George:

Being first time parents, my husband and I were very reluctant to put our daughter in anyone’s care other than our own.  We have the luxury of my mother’s help who is able to watch my daughter while my husband and I work full time.  However, in the fall of 2008, my parents decided to take a trip overseas leaving us with little choice but to look for a child care provider.  My research began and I immediately realized how difficult of a decision it would be because I had some pretty high expectations.  I was looking for a facility or home that was clean, orderly, child-friendly, with a nice/helpful/supportive staff etc…I started my search with child care centers and realized most of them did not have any immediate availability and a lot of them have parents jumping through hoops before their child will be accepted.  Already feeling the pressure, I changed my search and focused on home day care providers.  I visited many homes and came across many licensed child care providers, some better than others, then I met Lorena. It was an immediate sense of relief when I entered her home and my gut told me that this would be the right fit for my daughter who was 14 months at the time.  I quickly called my husband and told him all about it.  Lorena presents with a very warm and friendly face, comforting parents as they ask many questions about the services and care she would provide their child.  The child care area is set up in her basement, which again, is welcoming with sunlight shining in on all the toys that she has lined up around the room.  My daughter was very timid at first since it was, after all, her first experience with any childcare provider.  However, she slowly became acclimated to the environment and felt more comfortable.  My thought was that as soon as my parents returned, I would pull her out of child care and have my mom resume her role; however, 5 months later, she still attends Lorena’s day care.  Even better, I have referred at least two colleagues to Lorena who either have started or will be starting child care with her very soon.  I did not hesitate for a minute when my colleagues asked me about referrals since they knew I had already gone through the research process months earlier.  Lorena possesses a lot of positive qualities, but most important for me is that my daughter is in a clean environment, surrounded by happy kids, learning a new language, and that Lorena seems attentive and genuinely cares about my daughter’s well being.  What more could parents ask for?

Sincerely, Shadi George

From Mike Schrettenbrunner, father of Leni Schrettenbrunner:

Lorena,

We are quickly approaching the first year of using your day care for 11 month old child Leni.  We couldn't be happier with a provider.  I can't tell you how happy it makes us when we see Leni smiling when we drop her off and smiling when we pick her up.  In all honesty, I can't remember a time when she cried at either pick up or drop off.

You and Justina have become an important part of our family.  Leni loves you both.  You, your coworkers, your facility, your kids, and the overall environment you've created at your daycare mean the world to us... and to our little Leni.

From Sarah Pramstaller, mother of Jack Austin:

I started bringing my son, Jack, to Superstar’s Home Daycare almost a year and a half ago.  He was less than 6 months old when I started looking for childcare and, being a first time mom, I was very nervous about leaving him with someone else.  From the very start, Lorena made both of us feel comfortable and secure.  Her home is clean, inviting and well stocked with the appropriate baby gear and educational toys.   Her personality is warm and friendly and I liked her immediately.  I also liked that the daycare was small in numbers because it ensured that my son would get lots of attention.  I chose Superstar’s Home Daycare over more commercial childcare centers for these reasons.

Jack adjusted very quickly to life at daycare and has never looked back!  Each day when I bring Jack to Lorena’s he leaps from my arms, excited to be there.  He has made friends, adjusted to having daily structure, learned letters, numbers and colors (before the age of 2), has become agile and coordinated from outdoor play, and loves both Lorena and her assistant, Justina, like family.  They are my saving graces and I am ever grateful to have them in our lives.

As a single mother, I appreciate Lorena’s flexibility, understanding, and high level of communication.  I never have to wonder how my son is doing, as she is easy to reach and keeps me well informed.  And as the mother of a young child with asthma, I have confidence in Lorena’s ability to use her instincts.  She is bright, intuitive, and – most importantly - has taken the time to get to know my child.  I know that Jack is in good hands when he is with her.

I plan to keep Jack at Superstar’s Home Daycare until he is ready for pre-school.  I feel that the structure, socialization, and sense of security provided here will ensure that my son is prepared for the next step.  It is my hope that Jack will proceed into the next stage of life with a strong foundation provided in part by Superstar’s Home Daycare.

From Jill and Scott McKeon, parents of Maisie:

Being first time parents it was very hard to leave our 2 month old baby with someone else, but after meeting Lorena we felt much better about it.  Every time Maisie was dropped off in the morning she was greeted with a smile. She loved going to daycare and always talked about her friends and Lorena and Justina. When we picked her up she was always playing and having fun and was excited to tell us about the things she had learned. It was refreshing to hear her say new words that we didn’t teach her.  The children never watched TV, just played and learned. She would often come home singing the ABC’s, naming colors, animals, and reciting books like “Brown Bear, Brown Bear”

We recently moved out of the area and it was very hard to leave Lorena. She and Justina feel like family to us. They truly cared for Maisie and it never felt like she was just going to daycare. We are very thankful for the two years they watched Maisie. We highly recommend Superstar Daycare for future children.

From Stephanie Schwandt, mother of Laila:

My daughter Laila started with Lorena and Justina at Superstar's Daycare when she was almost 3 months old.  We are first time parents so my husband and I were nervous about leaving our daughter in another persons care. I did my research and went to about 8 different daycares. The minute I walked into Lorena's home i knew this was the place for us.

Her home is clean, organized and warm. My daughter was in Lorena and Justina's care for almost three years. They both became like family to us. They have the perfect mix of teaching, fun activities and love at Superstar's Daycare. My husband and I both work long hours and Lorena was always flexible and would work with our schedules.

I look forward to bringing my second child to Superstar's Daycare.
